GLACIER COMPUTER AND PSC NEW STRATEGIC ALLIANCE TO
MARKET RUGGED MOBILE COMPUTERS
New Venture to Provide State-of-the-Art OEM Equipment for Industrial
Uses
AMHERST, NH and EUGENE, OR, June 2005 -- Glacier Computer, a leading
maker of rugged computer systems, and PSC Inc, a leading provider
of data collection, scanning and imaging technology, today announced
the formation of a strategic alliance whereby Glacier will OEM PSC
Powerscan bar code scanners and 4400 series CE.Net hand held computers.
Glacier Computer’s full-screen PC-compatible industrial computers
are used on forklifts and in other fixed-mount locations. PSC’s
wired and wireless hand-held computers and related scanners are
used for inventory management and to track products. By combining
their hardware and software technologies, the combined solutions
will be able to deliver state-of-the-art equipment and service to
customers who require efficient and easy to use computers in warehouses,
factories and similar industrial environments.
Under the terms of the agreement, Glacier will market and support
PSC® bar code scanners and Falcon® 4400 Series Windows®
CE .Net Mobile Computers. “PSC products are a perfect complement
to our existing Glacier series of rugged computers,” said Don
Berch Glacier’s Sales Manager. PSC offers an array of scanners
and hand-held computers that our customers will integrate with the
Glacier fork truck unit.”
